UBI at the Work and Pensions Committee

The UK Parliament’s Work and Pensions Committee held a hearing on Universal Basic Income on November 11th.
It was part of their investigation into how the world of work is changing and how the Department of Work and Pensions should be preparing itself for this change. The Citizens Basic Income Trust CBIT made a written submission to the inquiry earlier this year.

The session heard from, among others, Stewart Lansley, Compass Associate and a Visiting Fellow, University of Bristol; Pavlina Draganova, National Coordinator, Organise; Peter Alcock; David Piachaud; Professor Nick Pearce; Dr Malcolm Torry, former director of CBIT; Anthony Painter from the RSA; Paul Vaughan, Head of Communities and Neighbourhoods, Fife Council; Edward Davies, Director of Policy, Centre for Social Justice.
