Postdoctoral Research Associate – The Economics of Universal Basic Income

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding postdoctoral economist to join the team at the University of Bath Institute for Policy Research (IPR) working on Universal Basic Income research. The project, led by Professors Nick Pearce and Chris Martin, will investigate (1) the interaction in advanced economies between technology, output GDP, labour income and consumer expenditure and (2) the relative merits of UBI as a response to increased automation and falling labour shares of national income. An economist with research expertise and interests in macro-economics, particularly New Keynesianism and Modern Monetary Theory, and strong quantitative skills is sought for the post.

The minimum requirement for selection is a PhD (or equivalent) in economics (or a related discipline), or evidence that the PhD will be completed prior to the start date of the post. The position is fixed term for 33 months at a Grade 7 (starting at £32,548 rising to £38,833).
